Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid has been well studied since its push into the public eye by Dr Linus Pauling. It has many wonderful properties that help in immune function. Vitamin C is a free radical catcher and antioxidant, and therefore reduces the oxidative stress brought on by inflammatory reactions to infection. It is a key factor in the immune system’s ability to fight infection and is 80x more concentrated in the white blood cells than the rest of the body. It leads to increased production of interferon and reduces the ability of viral replication by interfering with viral DNA/RNA reproduction. In test tubes Vitamin C is able to neutralize all toxins from snake venom to heavy metals, pesticides, cyanide, alcohol, and carbon monoxide.

While the old adage was taking high doses of Vitamin C orally could aid in fighting illnesses, it has been shown that the body will not efficiently absorb over 500mg orally versus when administered intravenously. The excess is just excreted when taken orally. By contrast intravenous Vitamin C is nearly completely absorbed and has not been shown to lead to kidney stones.

High dosage intravenous Vitamin C has been shown to aid in improvement and recovery from illnesses such as Lyme disease, Epstein Barr Virus (mono), Herpes/Zoster/Chicken Pox, West Nile Virus, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons, ALS, Alzheimers, Crohns Disease, Polio, Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Viral Pneumonia, and even Cancer.
