IV Therapy at ThrIVe Drip Spa, Santa Clara, Utah: A Game-Changer for My Health

At age 50, over 26 years ago, I was introduced to IV drip therapy by a doctor I had started seeing in Orange, California.  The IV drips were a new modern treatment of a healthy lifestyle started by athletes across the nation.

Why Did I Start IV Therapy, and How has it Helped Me?

I had recently started road biking for exercise and health. On days I couldn’t ride, I would take spin classes. The workouts were intense, and I often experienced leg and foot cramps at night. I consulted my doctor about the cramps and shared my exercise routine with her. She mentioned that I might be becoming dehydrated and recommended IV drip therapy. I was surprised by how much better I felt after the drip, and my cramps disappeared. Over time, I found that the IV drips were also helpful for my immune system by strengthening it, helping to prevent the flu and colds.

As I got in better shape, my road rides became longer. On a typical weekday, I would ride for about 25 miles in around an hour and 15 minutes. On my days off, I would take one or sometimes two one-hour spin classes. On the weekends, my rides would extend to 50 to 60 miles. Often, I would get an IV drip before the long weekend rides as well as a recovery drip afterward. As time went on, I started racing my bike in senior Olympic events, which were more taxing than the regular rides. Again, I used the drips for pre and post-race recovery.

In 2006, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. I had my prostate removed robotically, and because I was in such good physical shape, I only spent one night in the hospital. During my follow-up visit with my surgeon, he asked me if I was aware of IV drips, and I told him I was. He recommended that I continue the drip therapy with additional doses of vitamin C because he believed that this form of drip was like natural chemotherapy. Recently, a golf buddy of mine had prostate cancer and had his prostate removed. His surgeon recommended vitamin C IV therapy for him as part of his recovery.

IV drip therapy has also helped me with joint replacement surgeries. I have had both my knees and hips replaced, and the drips have helped speed up my recovery.

There are many drips available at ThrIVe Drip Spa, Santa Clara.  My go-to drip is the Myers Cocktail.  It has a good mix of multivitamins (such as b12, b-complex and magnesium), as well as a good dose of Vitamin C.

I strongly believe that IV drip therapy is beneficial for everyone. It is especially helpful for seniors in fighting illness and recovering from surgery. If you are in the St. George, Utah area, please visit our Santa Clara location and try one of our 12 signature IV drips. You can book here or call us at 435-922-3747.
